Sweet & Charming Pre-Wedding Ceremony & Rehearsal Dinner in Maine

If out-of-the-box is what you’re interested in for a destination wedding weekend, you will enjoy today’s featured wedding welcome party where the couple mixed up the traditional wedding weekend schedule of events. They started with a small, intimate wedding ceremony, followed by a wedding welcome party - which we’re featuring here today - followed by a larger wedding celebration the next day with all of their family and friends. Yes, that’s right! By the time their guests arrived at their wedding welcome party, they were already married!

While planning their wedding on the coast in Maine, Andrea and Mike knew they wanted to do something special to celebrate their marriage. What better way to honor their commitment than with not one, but two, wedding ceremonies? In lieu of a traditional wedding rehearsal, the couple tied the knot in a small church wedding ceremony the day before their bigger wedding celebration with all of their guests in Maine. After their small wedding ceremony, they invited their friends and family to wedding welcome party to get the party started off right!

Following their heartfelt wedding vows in a small wedding ceremony, the newlyweds hopped in their Jeep Wrangler for some private time to soak in the experience while driving to their wedding’s rehearsal dinner at The Samoset Resort on the coast in Maine.

Their wedding welcome party featured simple, sophisticated decor blending warm fall tones with Maine’s coastal scenery. Braided seagrass chargers stood out against crisp white linens with muted greenery garlands lining each table. More greenery burst from galvanized metal jugs, adding a charming farmhouse touch to the design. As their wedding rehearsal dinner drew to a close, the celebration transitioned into a wedding welcome party where Andrea and Mike could greet their guests and spend quality time with loved ones free from any pre-wedding stress - because they were already married!

Maine’s Coastal Venue

In their gorgeous rehearsal dinner in Maine at The Samoset Resort, the couple matched decor with the venue’s location. The groom’s parents added some coastal touches to the decor, and the couple added blues, purples, and peaches to their pallet to give it that coastal fall feel for their late September rehearsal dinner and wedding welcome party. They included wedding welcome bags for out-of-town guests at the welcome party which were white with some green touches and a welcome sign with rose gold framing to tie the wedding colors of dark green and rose gold in. Guests wrote advice and wedding wishes for the new couple on gorgeous gold notecards.

For their coastal chic party, the tables were set up with rattan placemats and gorgeous greenery. The couple saved money on their wedding rehearsal dinner by using decor gifted to them from a friend’s wedding! Small tables gave an intimate vibe to the occasion in the rustic venue.

After dinner, the bride changed into a chic white jumpsuit and the couple mingled with all of the guests during a cocktail party. For the night before the big day occasion, the bride wore a different wedding dress and carried a different bridal bouquet from her “main” wedding ceremony and reception the next day.
