Peony Party Wedding Rehearsal Dinner on Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard was the perfect location for Victoria and Rich’s summertime destination wedding weekend. The weekend began with a lovely, intimate wedding rehearsal dinner that included the bride and groom’s families and their wedding party. The bride had a complete vision for the design of her wedding rehearsal dinner, running with the theme of a “peony party.”

Peonies are bride, Victoria’s, favorite flowers, and with a wedding in June, she knew she wanted to take full advantage of the peak bloom season. The bride envisioned using as many different shades and colors of peonies as possible to make it pop, and the creative team behind this real wedding rehearsal dinner did not disappoint! The use of florals and linens tied in the theme and made for a beautiful setting for Victoria and Rich's friends and family who came to the island to celebrate them.

Advice For Couples Planning A Rehearsal

In addition to sharing their gorgeous peony inspired pre-wedding celebration with us, our bride even shared some incredible advice for anyone else who also planing a wedding rehearsal dinner. You have likely heard all of the rehearsal dinner planning advice from the experts (that’s us!), but this time, you’re hearing it directly from a bride who has been there, done that. Take it from her, she has some must-read tips for you!

For couples who are planning a destination wedding weekend, our rehearsal dinner bride, Victoria, recommends allowing your wedding planner to help with the rehearsal dinner too. Victoria shares:

“Navigating a destination wedding weekend is no easy feat, so with the help of my planner handling all of the logistics, I was able to focus mainly on the design and fun details of the rehearsal dinner! I had a vision for the aesthetics, but let my planner handle the rest of the logistical details which allowed me to stress less and enjoy the creative freedom!”

If you are planning a wedding rehearsal dinner or pre-wedding welcome party, be sure to take Victoria’s advice and make your plans early:

“We put so much focus on the actual wedding day, that we inadvertently saved some of the details of the rehearsal dinner until the last minute, which only added unnecessary stress. The rehearsal dinner is the opening act of the entire wedding, so you really want to set the bar high for the rest of the weekend!”

Bride, Victoria, has one more piece of advice when it comes to preparing for your wedding rehearsal dinner:

“Enjoy every second of it! The rehearsal dinner is your opportunity before all of the nerves and chaos of the wedding day kicks in to truly embrace the moment and celebrate with your closest loved ones! Your rehearsal dinner is one of the only times in your life where you are surrounded by all of your closest family members and friends on both sides who are all there in one room just to celebrate you and your fiancé. Treasure that time and make it count!”

A Peony Party Welcome

The rooftop wedding rehearsal dinner venue overlooking the harbor was the perfect location to welcome family and friends to begin a weekend of celebrating. Colorful table linens matched the playful colors of the peony floral arrangements that were a perfect fit for a summer celebration.
